Sustainability and the Rensselaer Community

Groups and Organizations

The GreenCorps an all-volunteer transitional group formed at Rensselaer after the Fall 2008 Sustainability Charrette. The purpose of GreenCorps was to bring together a small, agile body that had participants from all parts of the Institute — students, faculty, and staff, including senior members of the administration — who would help to coordinate projects that came from the charrette that were of interest to other groups at Rensselaer. The intent is that once an Office of Sustainability is established, GreenCorps will transition to a campus-wide support group for the assistance of the Sustainability Coordinator.

Ecologic is the environmental club at Rensselaer, aiming to make progress toward a greener world and educate the community about environmental issues. EcoLogic operates out of the Environmental Education Center (EEC) in the Games room of the Student Union.

Student Sustainability Task Force

The Student Sustainability Task Force (SSTF) is a student-led organization devoted to promoting sustainability throughout campus by collaborating with various clubs, faculty, staff, and administration. We work to integrate sustainability into all aspects of campus life, including education, research, operations and culture.
